As you can see, the header to this blog has a new image at the top. Its not the "best" image it could be. It was done somewhat quickly, and not exactly what I wanted it to be. However, it is done.
Back in December I started seeing altered art cards. Mostly lands, some higher end stuff, getting alternative art done by those who created the original image. I thought to myself, "how freaking cool would it be to get Mark Poole to do something?!"
I've seen versions of Ancestral Recall on an island, Yoda, a stormtrooper, dragons, etc. I didn't have any beta basics laying about for such alterations. Buying them is a tad foolish in my book, but I could pick up a NM set of unlimited for under $10.
Then I thought- why not use the white boarders given by unlimited to span the three cards? Why not make it a three panel Counterspell, and see if Mark Poole goes for it.
Well folks, it goes beyond my expectations. I even wrote to Mark Poole thanking him endlessly about his alteration. I am seriously considering putting them up in a frame for display purposes. Seriously. *swoon*
