Trading

I drafted last night and completely forced R/U to my utter defeat... I realized afterwards I was running zero rares, but in draft that isn't a huge problem. I had some wonky picks, and really wasn't drafting like I should have been.

Afterwards however, I stuck around for 45 minutes and made some really good trades for things I 'normally' don't get. What do I mean by that?

Well, over the past few months I have been using TradeBox.org for making trades for things. I figured it would reach a bigger audience and find things I wouldn't always find in the local game store environment. I've had some stumbles, but over all its been decent.

Last night however, I nailed down 2 Stoneforge Mystics and a Wasteland. I don't know if I could have as easily made those trades on DeckBox. The guys at the store were more willing to trade whatever they had in their binder for stuff they needed from me.

I was able to pitch stuff off that I really didn't need or want for those cards I DID need and want. I don't know why, but it was SO much easier as long as everyone felt they were not getting hosed. What I also realized is that the local game store crowd was much more worried about Standard stuff than the non-standard. Making trades from standard over to non was no-muss no-fuss sort of work.

The only 'downside' of making trades in store was keeping track of what I got rid of so I could update my DeckBox have list. Good problem to have, right?
