While I am very happy a buddy was willing to lend me the cards I needed, I felt REALLY bad at the value- over $1,000 in about 14 cards. Scary.
I also couldn't justify the entry fee for a Legacy back-couch driver- $60. I think MTG First made money on that event. (they likely did not acquire those lands for full price)
After I pulled the pin not to go, I felt relief, not tension. Made me think I made the right decision.

I drafted last Friday at the local haunt. They are still doing triple Rivals- which is a bit weird. A small set with 3 packs to draft from? Ouch... a TON of removal was had. I came in second and basically had 10 pieces of removal. I lost to a guy who had 13 pieces, including two Golden Demise. TWO! I think I could have pulled out at least one win if he had only had 1 in his deck. Oh well.
Btw- Twilight Profit in draft is amaze-balls. Sure, go ahead and Waterknot it, or Luminous Bonds... it still cracks you, gets me life, AND draws me a card. Works for me.
I was able to pull some really good value from the winning packs and draft. I am a happy camper there!

Got another Omniscience to help my Sneak and Show deck. Good trade for me.
Got a Leyline of Sanctity at FNM, for a pile of things I didn't care about... so huzzah.
Traded a beat to heck Bloodghast and a good one for a Sword of War and Peace.

I am decently close to have a real Death and Taxes deck... the biggest hold outs are Rishadan Ports, Plateau, Arid Mesa, Cavern of Souls, and Karakas.
I am confident that the Ports are going to be re-printed for MM25. Plateau is surprisingly affordable for a dual. Arid Mesa is a sticky wicket. blech. Re-print again! :)

Time to trade Collective Brutality and Kolaghan's Command.
