Below is a fake Magic card, a Tarmogyf from Modern Masters 2017. As of this post, it runs a market price of $66.36 from TCG player.
More and more people are choosing to get the newer Magic cards with the holo-stamp. Its supposed to prove that this card is authentic, very hard to duplicate. Welp, that is no longer the case folks. They nailed the halo stamp. (they being the folks who make fakes)
The good news? This fake still does not pass the light test, it is just too dark. The thickness is about right though. The feel is about right... the card, in a perfect fit sleeve, would never get detected by anyone.
We are entering a brave new world of fakes. I think if they solve the light test problem, any modern valid card would be completely fakable. We are in trouble if this happens. (we being the magic playing community)
