April 1 updates

    Been able to get my legacy on with my buddy Andy over webcam. Its not perfect, half the time we can barely read each others cards... we forget things on the board- but its legacy. He has a style of play, and I have a style. Often they clash, so our sample sizes of play are very limited. For example, he won't play his mill deck vs my S&S. (kinda pointless with Emrakul) We very well might be starting to jam in person again as we both are fully vaccinated. 
    As for Legacy, I have the following decks assembled paper legal!

    Speaking of jamming- I absolutely distain drafting Kaldhiem draft on Arena. I've tried several things, nothing works. I even had a MONSTER of a draft, then got completely mana screwed in each game I played. It was just the worst feeling ever, knowing you had a monster draft deck and there was nothing you could do about the mana. 

    So I hit the Time Spiral Remastered luck sack. Story time, when they announced the set, no one knew how limited it would be. Everyone figured it would be as available as say any other recently printed set... I pre-ordered two draft-boxes, for a total of 6 packs. Buddy Andy and I were going to jam sealed decks. At least that was the initial plan. Then I noticed via TCG player that individual packs NEVER went below $8. Once people figured out the limited numbers, prices skyrocketed. I went to my local Targets and bought up some more draft-boxes. The first one I opened I got a crimped Mystic Confluence and a foil old boarder Feather the Redeemed. (see video opening here) Promptly ran back out and that Target was empty of product. I was sad. Next day went to the other near Target and bought all the boxes. w00t! I planned to keep the Feather for a long term hold then trade. Still waiting to see how that all unfolds.

    I opened up a couple more boxes, and hit relatively nothing of interest. No more crimps, no money cards, etc. Re-enforced my feeling that I was just EXTREMELY lucky with those two first boxes. I even took my first two ordered boxes from Amazon and put them up on eBay to help off set the costs. Those sat unsold for 3 days. Then I decided to open them, because, well- I wanted. I tried to record the opening with my buddy so we could both comment on the cards found. The recording occurred, but only my voice. Doh. Boy howdy was I glad I kept them because this happened:

    Yup- Tarmogoyf, Gemstone Caverns, and FOIL OLD FRAME MONASTERY SWIFTSPEAR! Knock me over with a feather. 

 

  I won a small lot on one of my auction sites. I based the entire purchase on this one image, thinking that a large part of one of the Commander pre-constructed decks would be in there.... boy howdy was I wrong. 

    It was at least half filled with Un-stable cards. Not even a single land from the set... SIGH.

    On the positive side, one of my daughters who loves squirrels got a bunch more squirrel cards from this purchase, including Earl of Squirrel!

I found my jam on Arena with best of three historic. Rocked a black-ramp deck to Mythic status with a couple days to go. I was convinced I would never make it again on Best of 1. Here is that deck list:
