DC Grand Prix, part 1 the art

Mark Tedin creating a doodle on my Emrakul.
An entirely last minute event occurred, and I was able to go to the DC Grand Prix. I was not expecting, had not prepared, and was kinda just taken by the seat of my pants to attend.

I am going to break up my somewhat short stay in to a couple posts. Just because there is plenty of eye candy and stories to go around. I knew there were going to be some outstanding artists, so I gathered several cards to get signed that I could quickly find. One regret, not getting Urza's Saga lands for Rob Alexander to sign. Otherwise I took with me:
  • Emrakul, the Aeons Torn
  • 3x Show and Tell from Conspiracy
  • Pre-release promo of Prepare//Fight
  • Polluted Delta from Onslaught which I traded for the night before
  • 2x Leyline of the Void
  • Mystic Remora
  • Beta Mountain
I also took my three panel Counterspell to tell Mark Poole "THANK YOU" in person. I had NOTHING for him to sign otherwise. I felt horrible, but it is what it is.
For the record, Mark said that version of the Counterspell was the only one like that he had ever done. Making it "unique."

I wound up also buying 5 Zombie tokens from Ken Meyer Jr. He signed them as part of the deal, which was nice.

The beta Mountain marks the last beta Basic I need to complete my "draft set" of 10 each beta lands I will have pre-sleeved when I draft, saving time, and looking awesome.
